Marcela Martinez

Marcela Martínez is a community leader, entrepreneur, and legal professional who has built her life and career in Canada. A graduate of the Business Management and Entrepreneurship program at Algonquin College, she has extensive experience in business leadership, innovation, strategic growth, marketing, and partnership development. Throughout her professional and community work, Marcela has brought people together, developed practical solutions, and helped create opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds. She is currently President of the Colombian Community of Ottawa–Gatineau, where she promotes civic participation, supports the integration of newcomers, and strengthens connections between cultural communities and Canadian institutions. Having experienced the challenges and opportunities of building a new life in Canada, Marcela understands the importance of fair access to employment, education, public services, and economic opportunity. She is committed to an inclusive and prosperous Quebec where French is promoted positively, individual freedoms are respected, and every resident has the opportunity to contribute and succeed. Her contributions to community development and social causes have also been recognized by the Government of Colombia, which honoured her as an Outstanding Colombian in Canada.
