Jenifer Gomes

Jenifer Gomes is a Montreal-based community leader, healthcare professional, entrepreneur, and public-service advocate committed to building stronger, more inclusive, and better-connected communities. Her approach to leadership is rooted in a simple principle: listen to people, understand their concerns, bring communities together, and turn ideas into action. With experience spanning political engagement, electoral operations, healthcare, community organizing, administration, fundraising, public relations, and multicultural community development, Jenifer brings a practical and people-centred perspective to public service. Currently serving as a Director-at-Large of the Pierrefonds—Dollard Federal Liberal Association, Jenifer has been actively involved in political and electoral work, including campaign operations at the municipal level. These experiences have strengthened her understanding of grassroots organizing, voter engagement, teamwork, campaign coordination, and the importance of being present in the community. Jenifer's commitment to community service extends well beyond politics. Through her involvement with the Bangladesh Society of Montreal, she has helped organize cultural and community programs, coordinate fundraising and sponsorship initiatives, develop partnerships, and promote greater understanding, inclusion, and unity among diverse communities. Her professional experience in healthcare at the McGill University Health Centre has further shaped her approach to leadership. Working in a healthcare environment has reinforced the importance of compassion, responsibility, communication, teamwork, confidentiality, and service—values that she believes are equally important in public life. As a Returning Officer with Elections Canada, Jenifer has also contributed directly to Canada's democratic process. Her experience in electoral administration, polling operations, staffing, compliance, and election-day logistics has given her a practical understanding of how democracy works on the ground and why every vote, every community, and every voice matters. Jenifer is particularly passionate about community empowerment, civic participation, diversity and inclusion, women's leadership, and meaningful representation. She believes communities are strongest when people from different backgrounds have the opportunity to participate, contribute, and be heard. Her ability to communicate in French, English, Bengali, Urdu, and Hindi allows her to connect with people across Montreal's diverse communities and helps her build bridges across linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Jenifer represents a new generation of community-focused leadership—one grounded not only in ambition, but in service, integrity, inclusion, and action. Her message is simple: leadership begins with listening, grows through community, and is measured by the difference we make together.
