Colin Standish

The CaPQ is proud to announce Mr. Colin Standish, has been selected as founding leader of the Canadian Party of Quebec.


Colin Standish was raised in the Eastern Townships, and is a 9th generation Townshipper, Quebecer and Canadian. He was educated at Bishop’s College School (BCS), Queen’s University, and in civil and common law at Université Laval and Osgoode Hall Law School. He is passionate about language rights in Quebec and Canada, and has long been an activist. He is the founder of the Task Force on Linguistic Policy and spokesperson of The Exploratory Committee on Political Options. He has served on the Board of Directors of Townshippers’ Association and the Voice of English-speaking Quebec. Colin previously worked on Bay Street in Toronto, and is currently employed as a jurist at a prominent law firm in Sherbrooke. He lives in Cowansville.
